June 2008
Better late than never, right?
I'm sorry I didn't get this out on the first, but I've been literally swamped!
First, my sis was in a terrible car accident that wasn't her fault. She was hit head-on and sustained 9 broken ribs, a broken sternum, a broken nose, badly fractured eye socket that required surgery to repair, and a score of truly horrendous hematomas (bruises) that turned to cellulitis after swelling so badly, they broke the skin.
To make it even worse, she received horrendous care at UC's level 1 trauma unit. (We assume they thought she didn't have insurance, when in fact she has fabulous insurance!) I'm asking for an investigation of the doctors involved. It's the first time ever that we (any member of my family) have had a concern with medical care.
She's staying with me, literally sleeping in a remote lazyboy chair in my living room because the doctors don't want her reclining yet. But she's a trooper, and she amazes me with her internal strength.
Smack dab in the middle of helping her, Dianne Castell and I hosted the 4th annual READER & AUTHOR GET TOGETHER and it was a fabulous success!
Through basket raffles and generous donations, we scored big for the following causes!
Troop donations: $526 plus a lot of valuable supplies that will be shipped to the troops.
AAF or Animal Adoption Foundation: $1114 plus a lot of needed supplies for the animals.
Conductive School of Learning: $4552.50.
Plus $900 of book fair sales will be added to that amount. B&N sends the check directly to our benefit recipient.
The 2009 Reader and Author Get Together will be
June 5th – 7th, so mark your calendars!
You can see photos from the event, and read more about it, on my website at: http://lorifoster.com/community/readergettogthr.htm
(I'll get more photos added as soon as I have some free time!)
The end of this month, my husband I will celebrate our 30th wedding anniversary. I'm hopeful of having my current book done (My Man, Micheal, out in Feb 09) and all my other various odds and ends done so that we can take a much-deserved trip somewhere!
BOOKS OUT RIGHT NOW!
For June, you can find:
THE POWER OF LOVE, a romance anthology featuring 12 authors (me included) with all author and agent proceeds going to the Hamilton Co., YWCA Battered Women's Shelter.

In Sept, I'll have my 2nd Servant book, SERVANT: THE ACCEPTANCE. I just posted a short excerpt on my myspace page - www.myspace.com/llfoster and I'll try to get that on my regular website shortly! (GOT to finish this current wip though!)
Also, THE WATSON BROTHERS, a reissue of 3 novellas previous found in other anthologies, featuring Sam, Gil, and Pete.

I now have a Borders link for all my books, and we've added a cover for my newest Winston brother anthology, DOUBLE THE PLEASURE.
It's drool worthy!
MORE FUN!
I did some video interviews with Lifetime.com that I hope you enjoy! It always intimidates me to be on video. I don't look or sound like me - to me. LOL
But I'm sharing anyway!

Once you're on the above page, the videos are on the right hand side. Youll see me in three of them. Just click and the videos will play.
Also, if you go to Youtube and type in:
Trash Talking Romance Novelists: Bring on the RITAs, baby!
you'll find a hilarious, short video by the authors up for the Rita this year. I love it!
Here's a direct link - but for some people it's not working.

My grandson made the local paper, The Hamilton Journal, when he attended the Queen of Peace festival with his mommy and daddy. You can see him eyeing his daddy's ice cream cone here:

And I made the city paper, The Cincinnati Enquirer, for a feature on "What Are You Reading?"

Oh yes! I got to meet Tito Ortiz when he did a local signing for his book, "This is Gonna Hurt." For those of you not into MMA, Tito is a very well known, world-recognized fighter for the UFC. You can see the photos of me with him on my Myspace page at www.myspace.com/mostlymam
I think that's it from me.
I hope you're all doing well, that you enjoyed a lovely Father's Day with your husband, son, father, brother... someone! We had around 40 people over (a LOT of fathers!) and we had a blast!
If you're looking for something totally awesome to read, check out Kresley Cole. She's my new addiction! As soon as I get my own book finished, I'll be digging into another of hers. She writes super SUPER sexy paranormals that are laugh-out-loud funny, and some historicals. Trust me, you'll LOVE her! I do.
Happy reading, keep smiling, and be happy!
