MARCH COMIES IN LIKE A LION...
I sure do hope it goes out like a lamb – for all of us.

It’s been a crazy month for me! My dad, who is 85, just got out of the hospital and is recovering, so that’s a plus! A close family friend was nearly killed in a wreck, and is just now showing impressive signs that he’ll pull through. My oldest son works at a bank and was robbed at gunpoint. And I found out my littlest fur baby has congestive heart failure. That’s all on the personal front.

My Man, MichaelOn the biz front, some readers were displeased with My Man Michael. Overall the book has done remarkably well, and spent 3 weeks on the NYTimes, along with great showings on other bestseller lists. But I hope you know that it is never my intent to “dupe” ANY reader, or to “steal her money” or to deliberately leave her unsatisfied.

As an author, it is impossible for me to please everyone, or to anticipate what readers want, or don’t want. All I can ever do is write the book the best that I can, in the way it presents itself to me. It takes me months of hard work to finish a book – obviously I wouldn’t invest that time and energy just to irk some readers. So for the readers who were upset, I wish you lots of luck in the next book/author you choose. Reading time is a precious thing and we all want to close a book happy.

QUESTIONS
I’ve had a lot of questions from readers lately, so I thought I’d address some of them here.

1.No, I don’t have any other Time Travels currently planned. If/when I ever do, I will share that info on my website, Facebook, Myspace and message board – as I did with My Man Michael.

2. Yes, the next single title romance WILL be a straight contemporary, but no, it won’t be Drew Black’s story as I first thought. It’s difficult to anticipate the next storyline far enough ahead of time to include an excerpt in a published book. Literally, it’s a year in advance. And then the year rolls by and it’s time to write the book and... I have a different storyline demanding attention. I still plan to do Drew’s story, but it’ll be a couple of books down the road.

3. No, I can’t tell you too much about the next book yet, because I won’t even start writing it until next week sometime, after I turn in the novella I’m finishing up now. The novella is Hart Winston’s story, for the Double the Heat anthology, out in December. Hart is the twin brother to Dex, who was in the Double The Pleasure anthology last December. The twins are cousins to Joe Winston, who appears in each novella. Then the next single title romance is due in June. Crunch time!

4. Servant: The Kindred, one of my L.L. Foster “darker” books is out in Sept, and it’ll be the last in the Servant series. For those with inquiring minds, yes, Luther and Gaby become intimate and it was so much fun to write! I have loved these characters and I’m going to miss them, but this book brought about the natural conclusion to the series.

5. A new L.L. Foster series will be launched in the August anthology, Out of the Light, Into the Shadow, which features related novellas from Lori Foster and L.L. Foster, and two novellas from Erin McCarthy. The new L.L. series will be as dark as the Servant series, but much, much sexier. I don’t plan these things – they just happen!

And some more random questions I’ve received on a regular basis lately...

1. No, Tim Price, from Jude’s Law and Murphy’s Law will not get his own book. He was a fun character, but for me, he remained too weak to ever be a lead “hero” in a book. Sorry if that disappoints anyone!

2. Scott Royal and Alyx Winston (Joe’s sister) do not have their own book. They did, however, have a secondary romance in the novel Jamie, at the end of the Visitation Series.

3. Barber, from the SBC series, doesn’t have his own book, either. He had a secondary romance in Hard to Handle, and was matched up with Jasmine Petri. Again, many of you were upset about that, but I can only write the books that come to me, and that story wasn’t complete enough to be a single title on its own.

4. I have no idea if/when Harlequin plans to reissue the Buckhorn Brothers again. It wasn’t that long ago that they were reissued, but I do update my website with that information whenever I get it! So check the site – www.lorifoster.com – to know what I know, when I know it.

NEW REISSUE
ScandalousScandalous should be on stands now. You can find out more about the book, and read excerpts, on my website at www.lorifoster.com.

Scandalous features two reissued books under one cover: Scandalized and Sex Appeal.

I won’t have any books out in April or May, but in June, Impetuous, my first book, will be reissued as part of the “Famous Firsts” from Harlequin.

Also in June, Tails of Love, a special anthology with all author and agent proceeds going to a local animal shelter, the AAF – www.aafpets.com – will be released.
