I hope you had a wonderful, safe and fun Halloween. Storms blew away all my decorations just days before the "big day." But we never get kids for Trick or Treat anyway. I miss it!
We stored away the RV until the spring, and the lawn furniture is now in the barn. Boy, summer didn't last long enough, and winter is fast approaching. Thanksgiving will be here before we know it, and I'm already looking forward to pumpkin pie. :)
Remember, I always divide up the news so you can skim to what interests you, but please be sure to read the news about the newsletter, as it pertains to everyone.
In October, I was a "clue" in a USA Today quick-cross puzzle. How fun is that!? You can find it online here. Just click on your skill level (normal or expert) and fill in the answers. The question that pertains to me is, "Romance novelist Foster," and the answer, of course, is "Lori." :)
We recently added a page titled, "Lori's Charities," to the site. I have some very favorite places where I like to concentrate my efforts. In addition to routine donations, I've organized "benefit books" for some of the charities. All author proceeds from the sale of the books goes to the charity. Check out all the details here.
I hope you enjoy the new look of the newsletter! This is going to be much easier for me, so I hope it works great for you, too.
Registration won't open until January, but we've now added a "Reader & Author Get Together" page to the website. You can find it here. That page tells you the dates, the cost (still only $50!) and some of our special guests. The list will be added to on a regular basis, so keep checking back.
Also, if you have Facebook, please check out the new "Annual Reader and Author Get Together" Facebook Page, which will make it super-easy for attendees to interact and set up roommates or car pooling, etc...
Remember, everyone is welcome - readers, authors, industry professionals! The more the merrier! Make sure you mark the date on your calendar for June 3rd to 5th!
I now have over 200 photos of readers wearing my promotional T-shirts, so I've broken down the Facebook albums into "T-Shirt Project" and "T-Shirt Project 2" and "T-Shirt Project 3." To see them all, just go to my Facebook Page - then photos, and then click on the album you want to see.
This has been a super-fun project for me. I want to thank everyone who sent in a photo. If YOU have a photo of anyone wearing one of my shirts, be sure to send it to me by email!
For November, two of my older books are being reissued under one cover, retitled Bewitched.
In Too Deep
P.I. Harry Lonnigan wasn't fooled by her disguise. The waif dressed as a boy, who was about to blow his cover and maybe get herself killed, was every inch a woman. His first priority should have been reuniting Charlie with her estranged father—but her first priority was to seduce Harry, and before Harry knew it, he was in too deep.
Married to the Boss
Dana Dillinger had been R.J. Maitland's right hand for years—loyal, dependable... and hopelessly, secretly in love with him. So when he popped the question to prove he wasn't the playboy the press labeled him, she accepted his "proposal." But where R.J. envisioned a marriage in name only, Dana refused to settle for anything less than his heart....
You can read excerpts here.
In case you're new to my newsletter and don't know about my upcoming series - I have 3 single title releases, back to back, in May, June and July 2011. I'm hopeful that the wait will be worthwhile and that you'll enjoy the stories.
Titles for the new books are:
When You Dare, with Dare Macintosh - May 2011
Trace of Fever, with Trace Rivers - June 2011
Savor the Danger, with Jackson Savor - July 2011
The backdrop is that the heroes are private mercenaries and so far, I'm having a blast with the stories! I've gotten the covers, and they are DELICIOUS! I can't wait to show them to you. As soon as publisher gives the okay, I'll get them added to my website.
For those of you who ask... yes, I'm done with the fighters - for now. I never say never, and if a really compelling story comes to me, I'll write another, I promise.
Lastly, don't forget to check out my Cafepress store where you'll find fun gifts for the reader or writer in your family! I'm currently reorganizing the store to make it more efficient, so until that's finished, if you need help finding something, just let me know!
