First, I had MAJOR email issues the last 4 weeks. If you emailed me and didn't hear back, it's because my email system was being cruel and NOT sending messages that it said it sent. PLEASE email me again!
BUT... use my new email address. I gave up on the old one from my local phone company, Cincinnati Bell, when after two weeks of promises, they still couldn't resolve the issues. Not only that, but the techs kept promising to call me back, and you know how many times they did so? NEVER.

Most recently, I shared some SUPER awesome photos from my trip to the UFC, the Ultimate Fighting Championship. That's the sport that inspired my SBC series of books. LOVE the intensity! The UFC came to Ohio, and because I did a cool phone interview with Frank Trigg, which I turned into an article for FIGHT! magazine, I got invited to a special pre-fight party, got seated in the VIP section, and got my picture taken with a lot of the fighters and announcers. It was the best time!

My awesome "troop project coordinator, " Laurie Damron, is putting together another Holidays for the Troops project, hoping it will be the most successful campaign to date! The holidays are rapidly approaching and while it's heartwarming and fun to buy for our family and friends, let's not forget the brave men and women who are protecting our country and our many freedoms, as well as the rights of others less fortunate around the world. As a show of support for our troops in Iraq and Afghanistan, we are proud to announce our third annual Holidays for the Troops project!
Donations of either items to be sent to the troops or checks, money orders or gift cards to be used to shop for and ship items to our troops in Iraq and Afghanistan are being collected. Check below for a detailed listing of suggested items in the event you would like to do your own shopping for the troops. In addition to the items on this list, holiday items such as lights, decorations, ornaments, cards, etc. are much appreciated. In return for your donation, your name will be entered in a raffle for some exciting prizes. While the prize bundles haven't been put together yet, (Because so many wonderful things are still pouring in from authors) they will be generous and will include books and other goodies donated by authors and various others in the romance community. Pretty fun, huh? The deadline for troop donations will be Thanksgiving Day, and the prize drawings will take place on Saturday, November 24.

This is the 4th highly successful, growing event, and in the past we've donated all raffle proceeds to the Battered Women's Shelter, but this year we'll be donating to the CONDUCTIVE LEARNING CENTER of Greater Cincinnati, a local school specializing in education for children with spina bifida and cerebral palsy.
We haven't forgotten the shelter. I organized an anthology with contributions from myself and 11 other authors, titled "THE POWER OF LOVE," that will be published through Berkley in June 08, and proceeds from the sales of that book will go to the Battered Women's Shelter.

We'll also continue our fundraiser for the troops, including proceeds from a cookbook that I put together with donated recipes from authors, radio personalities, and a few readers, published through Samhain.
And of course, our event always includes one very special raffle for THE ANIMAL ADOPTION FOUNDATION- my local shelter that is just as wonderful as it can be.
And in the meantime, I'm putting together another anthology, this time with myself and 9 other authors. The proceeds from this one will go to benefit The Animal Adoption Foundation. Watch for more news on that antho, which won't be out until June 09.
It is my hope to do one of these anthologies every year for June, with the benefits going to very worthy causes.
We try to help as many causes as we can, and my volunteers are incredible, not to mention the readers and authors who show up and help!
